I meant all the other pages except for those mentioned have no PageRank. I swear I’m totally out of it this afternoon! Hogging Grizz’s comment section like that!

    Hi how are you,

First time poster here but regular reader, I am keen to learn the SEO stuff you are talking about. So just want to make a comment on your new blog.

    MT.

  3. Terry

Well I’ll be damned – Griz, you actually got over 100 comments on your first post on a brand new blog! That must surely be a record in anyone’s books, so congratulations are in order!

Hey Grizz, just picked up on this, so best of luck with your new blog. WordPress is easy, just a short learning curve and it seems that there are many here who can help, me included if needed. Looking forward to more inspiration from this one. Dave.

    Hi Griz,
Congratulations to your new blog, I thought I’d add my kudos to all the others here :) I’m a regular reader of your old blog and your posts are priceless. Thank you for that and now for this, I’ll be sure to stick around!

If you need any help with WordPress or PHP, please let me know. I’m doing web dev and I can help you with your theme, such as putting Adsense in and the Social buttons and stuff. Maybe you want something in the header, or a banner under each post’s title on the single pages?

Just send me an email if I can help. I’ve learned so much from you and it’s the least I can do.

    Keep it up,
    Bob Soap

See, the plan is to use this as a flagship site for his new SEO consulting business.

This is called search engine optimization (SEO) and it’s what I do.

Once this ranks on page one as well as MMOFB, well. What more testimonial do you need?

I’m just guessing at the purpose here BTW, but it’s what I would be doing if I were Grizz.

    Which I’m not.

PS, I think Will was just distracted by all the graphics. :)

Griz — very nice looking blog.

Will — I bet if you check other addresses of your main page you will find one that has a PR3. Google sees different addresses that point to the same page as different pages. For example:

    http://somesite.com/
    http://www.somesite.com/
    http://somesite.com/index.php
    http://www.somesite.com/inex.php

could all have different PR values.

    Grizz,

Got any questions or anything I can help you out with, learn, etc. about WP?

My internet is back from the death bed (damn Cinci Bell sucks!) so I am finally getting caught up!

Look me up on Skype or shoot me an email or contact form if I can help ya out!

Congrads on coming over, I knew you would bow to the peer pressure! lmao…

Grizz: you NEED the nested comment plugin Vic pointed u at NOW. You see one of the great things with WP is that you can actually have easily navigable comments LOL
And no Im not the “Queen of Hubpages” thats some marketing woman who has written the eBook – perhaps I should have done so because my excellent hubs barely make the price of a meal out /month LOL

I just found your new WordPress site, Grizzly.

All I can say at this time is that your Kung Fu is greater than mine.

By the way, I highly recommend http://txfx.net/code/wordpress/subscribe-to-comments/ so that I can follow along without coming back 100 times a day. :)

Good to see you on WordPress mate. Hope all is well :)

  17. RT Cunningham

Yes, Griz, that plugin works with 2.5+ because I’m using it. It shouldn’t break a thing but if it does, just holler.

    Hi Griz,
You don’t know me but I have been reading your blog, Vic’s and Court’s. Nobody knows me, but I kind of know you. I’m very new to blogging so I went on the search for advice and wound up with you guys. My blog isn’t monetized I just write what I want to write and have fun with it. I’ll monetize sometime when I know how to do it right. It’s a wp blog; codes and more codes, so I understand why it will take time for you to get in the groove. I’ll be reading and wishing you the best. I still read your old blog too. Cheers!

Good stuff, Griz, as always. It’s so funny, I’ve been doing so good with Blogger blogs due to all that you have taught me…I was almost offended when I saw that you had created a WordPress blog (LOL). I had a quick flashback to the post where you talked about the “prevailing WordPress snobbery”, and I chuckled because I realized that you’re simply expanding your dominion, so to speak. Once again, many thanks to you for all that you have taught me; my Adsense earnings are consistently growing. To any newcomers out there, read ALL of Griz’s posts from MakeMoneyForBeginners, and tune in to his future posts here! This stuff WORKS!!!

    Hi Grizz,

I just found your new blog. I like your bear gravatar alot… :)

I have been busy setting up my first wordpress blog as an eBay affiliate site with help from Janet at “antiguawebsolutions”…

Dunno if you have any experience with eBay affiliates sites?

  21. Don R.

Thanks for your comments on my indexing issue. I’m just an old guy who decided to starting blogging for $ during retirement. Man, you and Vic have my head EXPLODING. Your Beginners blog has me up in the middle of the night, and now I’ve got this one to keep up with. Could be the end of beautiful 51 year marriage! Nah! If the golf didn’t wreck it, nothing will. Gotta go link to your blog. Best.

  22. Alex

    Hi Grizz,

This stuff has my head spinning — I’m dreaming about SEO at night, and spending way too much time thinking about it during my day job ;-) . I’ve got a few small sites up, just waiting to be indexed, adding content and being patient.

I’m interested — when you’re trying to make a blog that draws search traffic to click on your ads, do you ever mention products by name, or websites by name? It would seem that you don’t want to give traffic any other out than clicking on your adsense adds.

Thanks for opening my eyes to the REAL world of online advertising.

    Hi Griz,

What a beautiful blog! Terry did a great job on it.

I’ve been studying blog security lately, spurred on by finding malicious code in all four of my blog templates. (The designer had the templates rigged so that every time someone bookmarked one of my pages, he got a link.)

Anyway, one of the things I learned in my studies is that a blog is slightly less hackable if you remove the login link under “Meta” in your sidebar. I don’t think it’s a big deal, but you might as well not give those swine any advantages.

  24. Terry

Why thanks Carla! Its nice of you to say so.

Yes you’re right about the hacking thing. When I was still new to this I left it there and got hacked on a few sites. Wasn’t nice and led me into all sorts of problems.

Griz, to get rid of it you don’t need to take out the Meta widget in your sidebar – just go into Settings, General then make sure the box next to “Membership: Anyone can Register” is UNchecked! That gets rid of the Register link in the Meta box.

By the way, the natives are getting restless in the forum with recent events in some er, agricultural areas… may need your steadying hand when you get a minute or so…

  25. Neena

    Griz,
I figure I needed to add a comment to your growing list! The kids have been keeping me away from the computer this summer so I am not up to date and in the know.
I, too, was surprised to see you using WordPress! I need to backtrack to your other site and catch up on what I’ve missed.

  26. Justin G

Grizz why am I so late to showing up over here? Maybe its because I am busy making money. I dunno? LOL!! I hope you continue to post once in a while here.

Grizzly, I remember you say the uglier the site, the higher the percentage of clicks? But this one looks decently pleasantto me. Or are you not monetizing this blog, and why are you using a paid domain this time around? Hope to sell it one day, right?

Anyway, all the best to you.
